“How to be a More Effective Trainer, Speaker or Coach”

The following is a 70-minute audio recording from a recent “Ask Jack Canfield” call you won’t want to miss.  I received hundreds of questions about how to be more effective speaker, trainer and coach – and answered as many as humanly possible on the call.

Whether you’re “officially” a speaker, trainer, coach or consultant … or you’re just getting started, I encourage you to listen to the recording. But it’s really for anyone for parents, leaders, service professionals, and any  manager in a corporate or non-profit setting.

I want to share what I’ve learned over the years because I know the incredible power that coaches, speakers, trainers and consultants have in helping other achieve their full potential – and the more effective you are, the more people you’ll be able to help. Here are the 10 questions I answered during the call:

  • I’ve just made the decision to become a life coach. I have a book in progress and also plan a speaking career. What one key thing should I be doing that will help me be successful in all three related endeavors?
  • What is the best source of training for someone that wants to be a public speaker but has never done it before (and is scared stiff but wants to overcome the fear) –
  • What are the key strategies a beginner could employ to be effective in his training sessions?
  • How do I learn how to deliver a clear flowing message with impact so I can truly change people’s lives? How do I learn how to engage an audience and keep their attention to maximize mine and their time? I study everyday and I really enjoy it, however up to this point I could not stand up and deliver a full flowing message that made sense.
  • What tips do you have for someone who is standing in front of a room full of people and suddenly their mind just goes “blank” …. Has this ever happened to you ? and if so , what do you do ?
  • How do I best secure more speaking engagements? What’s the best way to market myself as a speaker?
  • Do you have an exercise that can make people ‘feel’ the power of believing in themselves and their abilities and how that can empower them to reach their full potential and realize their dreams? ‘Saying’ it is one thing, ‘proving’ it or ‘making people ”feel” it’ is another.
  • How do I avoid overwhelming an audience with too much information?
  • What is the single most important actionable thing to do in a speech to move people to take action?
  • Jack, you often quote a lot of interesting research studies in your workshops. How do you stay on top of all the latest research? Are there specific journals that you check weekly, or is there some other way you find out about these studies?
