Using the Law of Attraction for Joy, Relationships, Money & More

The Law of Attraction is the most powerful law in the universe. Just like gravity, it is always in effect, always in motion. It is working in your life at this very moment. You are always in a state of creation. You are creating your reality in every moment of every day. You are creating your future with every single thought: either consciously or subconsciously. You can’t take a break from it and decide not to create because creation never stops.

Understanding just how the Law of Attraction is a fundamental key to your success. If you want to change your life, and empower yourself to create an amazing future, then you need to understand your role in the Law of Attraction.

Expect miracles.

The Law of Attraction allows for infinite possibilities, infinite abundance, and infinite joy. It knows no order of difficulty, and it can change your life in every way.

In order to really understand how the Law of Attraction works in your life, we need to look at a few things. I will explain the Law of Attraction, how to use it in your life to attract success in many areas, a meditation technique, and some tips for abundance.

Let’s start at the beginning.

Learn how to use the Law of Attraction from my FREE guide. Click here to get it.

What is the Law of Attraction?

Simply put, the Law of Attraction says that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will come back to you.

So, if you stay focused on the good and positive things in your life, you will automatically attract more good and positive things into your life. If you are focused upon lack and negativity, then that is what will be attracted into your life.

Here’s how it works:

Like attracts like. If you are feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, appreciative, or abundant, then you are sending out positive energy.

On the other hand, if you are feeling bored, anxious, stressed out, angry, resentful, or sad, you are sending out negative energy.

The universe, through the Law of Attraction, will respond enthusiastically to both of these vibrations. It doesn’t decide which one is better for you, it just responds to whatever energy you are creating, and it gives you more of the same. You get back exactly what you put out there.

Whatever you are thinking and feeling at any given time is basically your request to the universe for more of the same. Because your energy vibrations will attract energy back to you of the same frequencies, you need to make sure that you are continually sending out energy, thoughts, and feelings that resonate with what you want to be, do, and experience.

Your energy frequencies need to be in tune with what you want to attract in your life.

If love and joy are what you want to attract, then the vibrational frequencies of love and joy are what you want to create.

How to Use the Law of Attraction

law-of-attraction-compass-guidance

Once you understand the Law of Attraction, and how it works, you can begin to consciously and intentionally create a better life.

You can choose to respond differently to the situations that arise during your day.

You can choose to think differently.

You can choose to focus and think about the things you want more of in your life.

You can choose to experience more of the things that make you feel good.

You can choose to deliberately participate in the creation of your future by managing your thoughts and feelings.

Using the Law of Attraction is a three-step process: ask, believe and receive. Let’s go into detail on each aspect.

1. Ask for what you want, not for what you don’t want

Every day, you send out requests to the universe—as well as to your subconscious mind—in the form of thoughts: literally, what you think about, read about, talk about, and give your attention to. Unfortunately, what we give our attention to is often random and not deliberate, you simply respond to situations.

Because the Law of Attraction states that you’ll attract into your life whatever you give your energy, focus, and attention to—wanted or unwanted.

You must become more deliberate about what you think and feel.

To become more intentional about the thoughts you offer the universe, you’ll need to decide what you want—but also practice feeling those emotions you’ll experience when you have it.

Perhaps you want to change career, move to another state, win a major professional award, have your own TV show, or recover from a major illness.

  • How would you feel once you’ve “arrived” at your goal?
  • What would you be doing throughout your day?
  • Who would you be spending time with?

The more you focus on and talk about what you DO want (instead of what you don’t want), the faster you will manifest your dreams and goals.

2. Believe that you’ll get what you want, then take action

What does it mean to believe you’ll get what you want?blog-sidebar-250px-width350px

It means maintaining a positive expectancy, going about your day with certainty— knowing that you’ve put your future in the hands of powers that are greater than yours. It’s deciding with conviction that what you want will absolutely happen.

This is not always easy.

Many people have limiting beliefs which keep them from allowing abundance and happiness into their lives. If this describes you, realize that you must first change your limiting beliefs into thoughts that you are deserving, worthy, lovable, desirable, and capable—as well as smart enough, strong enough, attractive enough, rich enough, good enough, and “enough” in every other way that matters to you.

Once you believe that you’ll get what you want, the second part of the equation is to take action.

Taking the actions that would create your desired result affirms your belief that what you want is within reach.

3. Receive what you want by becoming a vibrational match for it

In order to receive that which you are intending, you must become a “vibrational match” for what you want to attract into your life.

The easiest way to become a vibrational match is to focus on creating positive emotions of love, joy, appreciation, and gratitude throughout your day. You can also practice feeling the emotions you would be experiencing if you already had what you wanted. You can also create these emotions through the thoughts that you think. In fact, your thoughts are creating feelings all the time, so it’s important to catch yourself when your emotions turn negative and turn them to positive emotions.

As with everything, this takes time and practice. However, the more you put a conscious effort into attracting what you want, and following these steps, the easier it will become.

You can begin to expect miracles.

Money and the Law of Attraction

If you want to create financial abundance in your life, then start by focusing on prosperity and money flowing into your life.

Envision the checks coming in the mail. Write yourself a check for the sum of money you wish to manifest this year, and post it in a visible location. Every time you see it, believe that it is possible.

Remember to take a moment to be thankful for everything that you already have. By doing this, you are creating a vibrational match for the financial abundance that you want to attract into your future life.

The Law of Attraction in Love and Relationships

law-of-attraction-in-relationships

If you want to create an abundance of love in your life, then focus on love. Be the love you want to attract.

Become more loving and generous with others and with yourself. By creating the vibration of love, you will automatically draw more love into your life.

Focus on whatever it is that you want to create more of in your life, and remember to be grateful for that which you already have.

Gratitude itself is a form of abundance, and the vibrational frequency of gratitude and appreciation will automatically attract even more to be grateful for.

A Law of Attraction Meditation for Guidance

law-of-attraction-woman-meditating

Take time each day to step away from the clutter and the noise. A daily commitment to spend time in this still, quiet place is a commitment to clarity and inner peace.

We need this time and space in our lives in order to remember who we really are, what’s important, and where our personal truth lies. It is our time to calm the spirit and soothe the soul.

You can learn how to meditate in many different ways, but in general, they consist of simply being still and quiet for a period of time and focusing your attention on either your breath or a mantra of some sort.

If you are new to the practice of meditation—your thoughts will drift, and your mind will wander at first. Remember not to be hard on yourself when this happens. This is just part of learning how to meditate.

If you have never meditated before, here’s a simple structure you can use to begin.

  1. Find a quiet place, close your eyes, and focus on slowing down your breathing.
  2. Repeat an uplifting word or phrase.
  3. Move into a state of quiet.
  4. Imagine yourself surrounded by a sphere of light.

The regular practice of meditation will help clear your mind of distractions, cleanse your thoughts, and enhance your spiritual connection. It renews the spirit, relaxes the body, and calms the soul.

Law of Attraction Success Stories

The Law of Attraction states that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. There are thousands of stories of people using it to achieve success, miracles, and things that they never though possible.

Let me tell you my story...

My mentor was a man named W. Clement Stone, who was worth $600 million when I worked for him.

He coached me about the Law of Attraction when I was a teacher in Chicago making $8,000 a year. He told me, "I want you to set a goal that's so big that if you achieve it, you'll know it's because of the secret I am teaching you."

I decided that that goal was to make $100,000 that year. I created an image of a $100,000 dollar bill and hung it on the ceiling above my bed. Every morning I'd see the image. I'd visualize what it would be like to have $100,000. Everything I did was to achieve that goal. At the end of the year, I had made $97,000. This would never have been possible without the Law of Attraction, these visualization techniques, and meditation.

I have since gone beyond that goal by using The Law of Attraction, in my life.

Law of Attraction Tips for Letting it Work in Your Life

blog-sidebar-250px-width350pxNow that you understand a little bit more about how you participate in the process of the Law of Attraction, you can begin to take responsibility for everything that you are currently in the process of attracting into your life.

Now that you are aware of the role you play in creating your life, you can no longer create your future accidentally or by default!

Take this to heart, because this is your moment, your time to begin consciously, intentionally, and deliberately participating in the creation of the future you desire.

1. Your Thoughts Determine Your Desires

Your thoughts are powerful. They are real, they are measurable, they are energy. Every single thought you have is a statement of your desires to the universe.

The thoughts you think today, feelings you feel today, and actions you take today will determine your experiences tomorrow.

So it is imperative that you learn to think and behave in a positive way that is in alignment with what you ultimately want to be, do, and experience in life.

2. Dream Big

Don’t censor your dreams or vision with practicalities and probabilities. You don’t need to know every single step that it will take to achieve your goals. Just decide what you want. Know that you deserve it.

Believe you can have it, then release it, and let it go.

Open yourself up to infinite possibilities. Watch the miracles unfold. Now, consider this possibility—if you can figure it all out on your own, then your dream may not be big enough!

3. Use Positive Affirmations

Affirmations simply affirm your positive beliefs about yourself and about life. Every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation. Your thoughts and words are declarations of who you think you are and how you perceive the world to be.

Strong, positive affirmations are powerful means of self-transformation and they are a key element in the creation of the life you desire.

They work by purposely replacing the limiting ideas, negative beliefs, and self-talk that you have taken on and internalized over the years with positive statements that assert who you want to be and how you want to experience life.

4. Clarify Your Goals

There are no limits on your dreams and goals. The whole world is out there just waiting for you. This is an inspirational technique that you might want to try as well.

A great process for clarifying some of your more long-term life goals and dreams is to make a list of 101 goals that you would like to accomplish before you die—101 things you would like to do, be, or have.

I wrote my life goals list in 1989 and you can read my personal life goals list for inspiration.

Take Positive Action!

Start by opening your mind and your heart.

Strive to become more aware of the amazing synchronicity that already exists in your life. Sweep away any lingering negative thoughts or emotions.

Sweep away any doubt. And then take actions each and every day that will move you toward your purpose and the fulfillment of your dreams.

The Law of Attraction allows for infinite possibilities, infinite abundance, and infinite joy. It knows no order of difficulty, and it can change your life in every way if you let it. Download my free guide to learn more!

Stop Using These Affirmations Now

stop-using-these-affirmations

Life is full of obstacles and roadblocks. It is easy to slip into negative self-talk when faced with these setbacks. This pessimistic outlook has a greater impact on your mindset than you’d think. I want to share a few common affirmations that you should stop using immediately and some positive replacements for them.

The Law of Attraction is at Work Right Now

The Law of Attraction is the most powerful law in the universe. Like gravity, it is always in effect, always in motion. It is working in your life at this very moment.

Simply put, the Law of Attraction says that you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will come back to you. If you focus on lack and negativity, then that is what you will attract into your life.

Replace These Negative Affirmations Now!

The negative messages that you feed yourself can lead to depression, lack of self-esteem and low self-confidence.

If you are using any of these affirmations you should stop, and replace them right now, instead choose from this list of positive affirmations.

1) "Money is the Root of All Evil."

The first affirmation you need to stop using now is “Money is the root of all evil” or “Having money creates more problems in life.”

There is nothing wrong with desiring financial wealth. You can do a lot of good in the world with greater financial assets. It is only the attachment to money that becomes problematic.

Replace this with:

"My life is abundant in every way."

2) "I Don't Want to Be Angry."

The second affirmation to stop using now is “I don’t want to be angry.”daily affirmations for success guide 2 offer

It’s important to focus on what you do want, not on what you don’t want. State your desires in a positive way.

Your mind works in pictures. If you say “I don’t want to be angry,” you are creating the picture and the vibration of being “angry.” The universe only receives the frequency of “angry” and responds to that.

You must focus on the opposite of what you don’t want. In this case, it would be a better choice to say

“I want to be more loving and accepting of the way things are.”

3) "I Don't Want to Get Sick."

The third affirmation to stop using now is “I don’t want to get sick.”

We have a tendency to focus on what we don’t want in so many areas of our lives, even when it comes to our own health.

When faced with an illness or disease, we become completely preoccupied with the problem rather than the desired outcome. We tend to give our complete focus to the illness, and all that it entails, instead of focusing on being healthy.

Use an affirmation like

“I always enjoy being vibrant, healthy, energetic and strong.”

Since what you focus on expands, you want to direct your energy and thoughts to those of being well. Keep your thoughts positive and optimistic, and see yourself as healthy and whole.

Your positive energy, thoughts, visualizations, affirmations, prayer and meditation combined with whatever holistic, natural integrative or traditional medical treatments you choose to seek will serve to enhance the healing process.

4) "I'm Losing Control."

The fourth affirmation to stop using is, “I am losing control.”

There are times in life where you may feel like you can’t control the things that are happening around you. Remember that you are always responsible for how you react to the things happening around you.

Negative thoughts often cause feelings of hopelessness and distance. Begin to think positively about the things happening around you and acknowledge that you are responsible.

A positive affirmations to replace this is:

“I am grateful for every experience in my life.”

Think Differently and Positively

I want to leave you with a bit of homework to complete upon reading this post.

Leave a comment below of a negative affirmation that you’ve been using and what you’re going to replace it with. I’ll be sure to follow up with you!

Make a conscious effort to restructure the way you think and speak. Avoid giving any unnecessary energy to the things you don’t want in your life. Avoid subjecting yourself, your thoughts, and your emotions to the negative people and influences in your life.

Conclusion

Now is your chance to begin thinking differently! Changing from negative to positive affirmations is the first step in the right direction.

Remember, nothing will change for the better until you do. I've created a step-by-step, daily affirmations guide to help you learn to use affirmations and recharge your inner power. Click the banner below to learn more.

How To Find Your Soulmate Using the Law of Attraction

how-to-find-your-soulmate-using-the-law-of-attraction

There is something to be said about the power of positive thinking.

The basic definition of the Law of Attraction states: "What you think about, you attract."

Positive thoughts have the power to transform our lives for the better, especially our love lives. Today I want to share a simple technique that focuses on using the Law of Attraction to find your soulmate.

How to Find Your Soulmate By Focusing On What You Want

In our romantic relationships, we tend to focus on the things we don’t want in a partner rather than the things we do.

Give deep thought to what you want to create in your life. Consider the relationships in your life and focus on what you do want, not what you don’t.

Get in touch with your inner truth, your authentic dreams, your goals, and your heartfelt desires. Honor these and own them without fear, shame, or inhibition.

Define Your Dreams

Your dreams and desires are not subject to anyone else’s approval.

They are yours and yours alone, but you have to define them to achieve them.

Your dreams and aspirations should serve to ignite the passion within you. This passion will not only inspire you to achieve them, but will also send a positive vibrational frequency out into the world.

Through the Law of Attraction, the universe will respond accordingly.

Learn to Activate The Law of Attraction, Achieve All of Your Goals, and Find Happiness.

Make an “Ideal Relationship” List

One effective way to activate the Law of Attraction in your love life is to create a dream list of your ideal relationship. Your dream list will be a comprehensive overview of your dreams, goals, and desires. It will represent what you want to be, do, have, and achieve in all areas of your life including relationships. Here are the steps to make an ideal relationship list:

1. Create a T-Chart for Your Ideal Relationship

The first technique is the creation of “T-chart.” This type of chart is a very effective way to identify what you do want in your life by looking at the things you don’t want in a soulmate.

Start by drawing a line down the middle of a sheet of paper. Label the left column “What I don’t want.” and the right column “What I do want.”

For instance, within the relationship category of your life, you may want to focus on a topic such as “My Ideal Romantic Relationship.” Start by writing down what you don’t want in one column. Then in the other column, turn it around into an opposite statement, saying what it is that you do want.

2. Cross Off the "Don't Want" List

Begin to fill out your T-chart. If you don’t want a partner who smokes, write that down on the left. Then write the opposite of that on the right side: a partner who lives a healthy lifestyle. If you want a partner who enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle, write that down on the right.

When you have completed your list, go back and cross off the “don’t want” list on the left side of your chart.

From now on, use the right side of each list and stay focused on what you do want in your life. There is no need to give any further attention or energy to the list of what you don’t want.

By the way, the simple act of crossing out what you don’t want is empowering, and it feels good!

Realize What You Want in a Soulmate

Completing this exercise will help activate the Law of Attraction in the relationship area of your life. Completing this also helps you to realize what you want in an ideal partner.

I suggest completing your own “T” chart for the relationships that you want to attract in your life.

Remember to remain focused on what kind of person you do want in your life, rather than on the person you don’t. Once you release your positive thoughts into the universe, you give it the power to transform your dream mate into a soulmate.

Conclusion

Was it easy or was it difficult to construct this dream list? Why? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll be sure to follow up with you.

Positive thoughts have a wonderful way of not only shaping our love lives but every aspect of our lives. To fully utilize the Law of Attraction in your life, you have to become a vibrational match with whatever it is you want to attract into your life. This means creating and maintaining an emotional state that matches the one you will experience when you actually get the thing you are focusing on. You can do this by appreciating what you already have, and continually finding more and more things to be grateful for.

I've written a short FREE guide to help activate the Law of Attraction in YOUR life.

3 Keys to My Successful Marriage

jack-canfield-and-inga-keys-to-a-successful-marriage

A successful marriage is one of the most wonderful things you can share with another person.

Throughout my career, I’ve emphasized the importance of creating intimate connections with others. The same holds true with your marriage.

Because of this, I have developed 3 keys to my successful marriage that can also help YOU create more fulfilling and authentic relationships with your spouse, family members, or anyone in your life. In turn, you will see that achieving happiness in this sphere of your life will bring you success in all other areas.

The Greatest Source of Joy in My Life

My relationship with my wife, Inga, is the greatest source of joy in my life. I adore her for how much she understands me and what I am about in life:

My purpose, my mission, and my priorities.

Additionally, for her unceasing love, support, humor, and encouragement.

My 3 Keys To Maintaining a Successful Marriage

Partners often drift apart because they never develop the deep sense of connection required to overcome the stumbling blocks that happen in every relationship.

They share a bed…but not a life.

They sit next to each other… but never share their deepest thoughts and feelings with each other. Then one day they wake up to a stranger sleeping beside them.

Good relationships are key to getting what you want from life. But what most people don’t understand is creating and maintaining a successful marriage or relationship takes commitment, time and energy.

Key #1: Express Your Authentic Self

So the first key to stronger, happier, and more fulfilling relationships is committing to being and expressing your authentic self.

And that’s a lot easier said than done.

The truth is that most people put on masks and different personas depending on the people they are with and the situations they find themselves in. They become chameleons in order to be accepted, liked or loved.

Finding the Courage to Voice Your Feelings

In addition to time and energy, it takes courage and the willingness to be vulnerable – to tell the truth about your thoughts, feelings, and desires to maintain a successful marriage.

It takes courage to admit that you feel lost, scared, overwhelmed and discouraged if you are supposed to be the boss at work or the breadwinner at home.

It takes courage to admit you are unhappy or dissatisfied with the relationship, that you are not getting your needs met, or that you are thinking about quitting your job or that you find yourself being attracted to another person.

Revealing Your Flaws is Worth It

Revealing your flaws makes you more appealing to your partner and to others. And taking off all your masks to express the parts of yourself that you’d rather keep hidden is going to naturally bring up feelings of awkwardness and discomfort—even fears of rejection.

But it’ll be worth it because it’ll bring greater authenticity and awareness to your relationships.

I can remember a few years back being frustrated that my wife would often criticize my eating habits – the food I chose to eat, the amounts I was eating, and so on.

I began to feel irritated and resentful of her criticism, but in my commitment to being a positive person, I didn’t bring it up, but inside I was still feeling angry and like I wanted to get away from her when she did this.

Telling the Uncomfortable Truth

As uncomfortable as it was, I told her that I needed her to be less critical and more supportive of me whatever my behavior was, and that I would take responsibility for my body and she should take responsibility for hers.

At that point, she told me that underneath her critical comments were her fear about my health and my longevity. She didn’t want to lose me to a heart attack or an early death.

Her concerns and her fears touched me deeply. As a result, I started eating even more consciously than I had been, and she made a commitment to support me and accept me with less judgment in whatever I was doing.

The Formula For Effective Feedback

Now that I eat better she has become a lot less critical in every area of my life.  That uncomfortable conversation of truth-telling helped transform the quality of our relationship.

By the way, a powerful communication tool that we now both use, instead of criticizing the other person, is this formula for effective feedback that helps avoid defensiveness and counterattack.

It goes like this.

"When you ____, I tell myself ____, and then I feel ____, and my request is that you ____."

For example, instead of saying: "I hate it when you criticize my eating, especially in front of other people."

Say this instead: “When you eat bread and butter before dinner and then order dessert, I tell myself that you are going to have a heart attack, and then I feel scared that you are going to die and I will be left alone, and my request is that you eat fewer refined carbohydrates.”

It’s amazing how powerful this tool is for creating conversations that actually bring you closer together rather than creating separation.

Learn to Activate The Law of Attraction, Achieve All of Your Goals, and Find Happiness.

Key #2: Quality Time Forms Connections

The second key to my successful marriage is quality time.

You and your partner’s definition of quality time may be different, but you need to constantly set aside time to connect with each other in the best way that works for each of you to continually build upon your relationship.

When I spend quality time with Inga, I give her my full attention with the TV off, and my computer and phone put away. I give her full eye contact and actively listen and respond to what she is saying.

She loves going on long walks together with me or sitting by our pool and having long conversations. When we do this, she feels seen and heard and ultimately deeply connected.

Key #3: Set Goals

The third secret is to set goals.

It’s one of the most powerful of all the Success Principles, and while people use it at work and in their professional life, I notice people rarely use it in the context of achieving healthy intimate relationships.

Believe it or not, goal setting is sexy. Defining what you want and going for it with gusto is very appealing to your partner.

But remember…

It’s not enough to say that you want to spend more quality time together.

Setting Relationship Goals

As I’ve stated many times, vague goals produce vague results. If you want real results, you have to be specific and state your goal in a way that’s measurable.

You have to state how much or how many, and by when.

For example: “I will take my spouse out for dinner at least once a month and schedule one evening a week to hang out together without any TV or cell phones, so we can spend more time talking and enjoying each other’s company.”

Just like with being yourself, setting relationship goals means probably confronting some long-standing fears and roadblocks.

There is a Solution to Every Obstacle

Maybe setting the goal of spending more quality time with your spouse makes you realize that you’ll need to say “no” to your boss when he asks you to stay late or come in on the weekends.

Or maybe you’ll have to confront your fear of talking about your feelings.

It’s important to remember that there is always a solution to any obstacle — you just have to look for it. Perhaps you can ask your boss if you can come in a couple hours early on one or more of the weekdays so you can make sure you get your evenings and weekends off.

Give Each Year a Focus

Every December, Inga and I take an afternoon or evening and set life goals for the next year.

These include how many vacation days we are going to take, how many evenings we are going to schedule with friends, how many days we are going to spend with our children and grandchildren, how many days we are going to attend a meditation or spiritual retreat, and what quality we are going to focus on for the year—

Such as love, acceptance, authenticity, fun, or courage.

One year we agreed to reread Don Miguel Ruiz’s book The Four Agreements and practice implementing one of the four agreements (be impeccable with your word, don’t take anything personally, don’t make assumptions, and always do your best),

So that by working on one each quarter, we could master them in one year.

A Successful Marriage Takes Patience

Obviously, there’s a lot more that goes into creating more successful and authentic relationships, but I want you to try one of these as your homework assignment.

Whether you’re married, in a relationship, or just want to work on your general relationships overall, I guarantee this will bring more joy into them.

The main marriage tip for you to keep in mind on this journey: Be Patient!

It may take your spouse, partner, family member or friend time to face their own fears or roadblocks before being able to meet you halfway.

If you are committed to being your authentic self, spending quality time with your partner, and setting focused goals, you’ll solve the problem together.

Conclusion

Leave a comment below with one of the relationship goals you and your partner are planning to set for 2017. I’ll follow up with you to make sure you’re staying on track!
